It is Summer time and many of us will be taking to the water to beat the heat. Whether you spend your time on Tygart Lake, Cheat Lake or Deep Creek Lake or the Monongahela or Ohio Rivers and whether you operate PWC, cabin cruiser, or a bass boat, be sure to stay safe this summer. Thoroughly inspect your boat prior to launch and everytime you take it out. If you are uncertain about the safety or seaworthiness of your boat, the U.S. Coast Guard offers free vessel inspections through the Coast Guard Auxillary and United States Power Squadron. You can sign up here.
When on the water, be certain to have sufficient life vests on board, always have a sober skipper, and always operate your vessel appropriately for the conditions.
